How to Make a Natural Cork Fanny Pack Bag
Fanny Packs are the item in which fashion and comfort come hand in hand, so what's better than to make one out of vegan leather?
We'll let you know, step by step, how to create one using our beautiful natural cork fabrics. You choose which pattern or color you it will fit the most, but for this example we'll be using our dark blue textile:
- cut your main cork panels and prepare your linings;
- note down the pattern measurements to make the fanny pack;
- let’s start with the front small zipper attachment to the cork panel;
- pin them together as shown to get a neat stitch line;
- stitch them together with a 1/4th inch seam allowance;
- press down the seam allowance down and make a top stitch;
- pin the side panels and stitch with 1/2 inch seam allowance on both sides;
- push the seam allowance towards the curved side of the panel and give a top stitch on each side;
- pin down the next panel to the zipper;
- stitch them together with 1/4 inch seam allowance;
- pin one side of the pocket bag to the bottom of the zipper;
- make a top stitch from the front. Make sure the pocket bag panel is pushed towards the hem;
- one side of the pocket bag is ready;
- now attach the other panel of the pocket bag to the top portion of the zipper with 1/4 inch seam allowance;
- complete the pocket bag by stitching the two lining pieces together with 1/2 inch seam allowance;
- your first pocket bag is ready;
- similarly attach the next zipper to your panels and make a pocket bag for it;
- make sure you tack the two pocket bags to the bottom hem;
- prepare the straps for your bag;
- now attach the front and the back panels together with 1/2 inch seam allowance. Start with the bottom hem;
- before stitching through the sides, attach the straps on either sides of the bag with 1/4 inch seam allowance;
- stitch together the front and back panels completely. Then make a 1/16th inch top stitch by pushing the seam allowances inward;
